Black Hawk Park District receives $100,000 Grant

The Fill the Meridian Pool Campaign just got a little fuller thanks to a $100,000 grant from the State of Illinois Department of Natural Resources. The grants were announced on July 8th by Gov. JB Pritzker.

The grants announced today are through the state’s Open Space Land Acquisition and Development (OSLAD) program, administered by the Illinois Department of Natural Resources (IDNR). OSLAD grants can provide up to one-half of a project’s funds and, when combined with the investment of local matching funds, will support more than $56 million in local park development projects and land acquisitions statewide.

Construction for the new pool has begun, as the community closes in on the total needed to build and sustain the pool. YOU CAN HELP! The Black Hawk Park District has a Fund established for the construction and future maintenance of the pool and parks.

Gifts to the Black Hawk Park District Foundation can be made online on the Community Foundation website at www.cfjodaviess.com or by mailing a check to: Community Foundation of Jo Daviess County, P.O. Box 77, Elizabeth, IL 61028.
